Communications (Dispatch) Supervisor, where each day brings

efficient transit operations.In this critical role, youll lead and
support a team of Emergency and Public Safety Police Dispatchers
and/or Fixed Route Bus Dispatchers in UTAs Transit Communications
Center (TCC). Youll oversee daily dispatch activities, ensuring
emergency and non-emergency calls are managed with precision. Your
leadership and technical expertise will help maintain seamless
communication and connect employees and riders to the help they
need.As a supervisor, youll guide operations, implement and improve
procedures, and provide mentorship and training to support a
high-performing team. Your contributions will directly impact the
safety, reliability, and success of UTAs transit services.As the
Transit Communications (Dispatch) Supervisor, you will:
- Supervise the UTA Transit Communications Center (TCC),
including both police dispatch and Fixed Route Bus dispatch.
- Implement new or revised policies and procedures for Transit
Communications Center operations.
- Serve as a technical expert and operate the Transit Police and
Fixed Route communications dispatch system; act as an S2 System
Administrator for UTA.
- Serve as the Bureau of Criminal Identification Terminal Agency
Coordinator (TAC) Officer or Alternate TAC Officer.
- Evaluate and make recommendations regarding the effectiveness
of communication and security technologies.
- Serve as a POST In-Service training instructor and training
coordinator for the TCC.Work Schedule
- Dispatchers, Trainees, and their supervisors work in a control
room setting, which operates 24/7/365.
- Shifts are generally 4 10-hour shifts.
- You must be willing to work nights, early mornings, weekends,
and holidays as needed, and will be required to rotate being on
call.Minimum QualificationsExperience
- Must have at least 3 years of acceptable work history in a
public safety, EMS, or transportation dispatch setting, including
three years of experience in a law enforcement, fire, or military
communication dispatch center.
- Experience in managing and organizing records/systems and
projects.
- One-year experience leading a team.
- UTA Dispatching experience preferred, but not required
- Bilingual English/Spanish Speaking Preferred, but not
requiredEducation/Training/Certifications
- Associates degree preferred.
- State of Utah POST training completion or military
communications training preferred.
- State of Utah POST Instructor certification preferred. - OR -An
equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.[UTA

experience.]Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite; technical
knowledge of computer hardware and software.
- Knowledge of law enforcement and transit dispatch radio
communications, as well as communications center operations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; leadership;
conflict resolution.
- Excellent organization, time management, and self-management
abilities.
- Ability to prioritize, make sound decisions, and function
effectively under stress.
- Demonstrates sensitivity, diplomacy, integrity, punctuality,
and reliability.
- This job requires regular and predictable attendance.Background

- Have no convictions for a civil or criminal offense involving
dishonesty, unlawful sexual conduct, physical violence to include
domestic violence, DUI, or unlawful sale or possession of a
controlled substance within the past 5 years.
- As a Public Transit Organization, UTA is required to conduct
background screening on all applicants we offer employment. This
background screening will include a criminal background check and
FTA drug and alcohol screening.
- Because this position works directly with Law Enforcement,
employment may be contingent on passing a more comprehensive
background investigation, including:

Pay Rate: $71,800.00 or more, depending on experienceIf interested,
