POSITION DESCRIPTION The Director of Maintenance & EHS is responsible for working to establish a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and coordinating all safety training related activities. Incumbent will oversee electrical, custodial, HVAC, millwright, machine tool maintenance and any other projects specified by the Sr. Director of Operations. This includes being responsible for all building and grounds maintenance for the site. Commitment to safety, quality, customer service, and efficiency is required. This position has the responsibility to maintin the quality standard at Janicki through the management of the quality team. The ability to communicate across multiple organizational boundaries and disciplines is critical, including management of personnel on multiple shifts.The following essential job functions for the Director of Maintenance & EHS: Responsible for the physical plant, buildings, grounds, and building associated equipment (HVAC, vacuum systems, etc.). Supervise building maintenance, trades, and custodial personnel. May work with outside contractors for services needed by the organization. Assist with design, layout, and planning facility projects. Manages scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks and maintains records. Obtains quotes, makes purchases, and maintains budgets. Coordinates with Operations (production) for access and opportunities for maintenance. Estimates project schedules, costs, and staffing requirements to provide information for management decisions. Analyzes and plans work force utilization and equipment needs to ensure adequate resources are available to complete assigned tasks. Identifies areas for improvement among team members and implements on the job and cross training accordingly to create a more capable and homogenous team. Ensures WO's and maintenance records are assigned and completed. Train employees in EHS subjects and safe equipment operation. Develop and update EHS training materials. Conducts job hazard analysis and ergonomics evaluations of new and legacy production processes. Facilitates the transfer of safety best practices across multiple shifts. Works with operations to ensure full compliance with all federal, state, local, and company EHS regulations. Monitors processes for adherence to OSHA, EPA, UOSH, and Utah DEQ guidelines. Facilitates workplace safety incident reporting and leads team approach on investigation. Conducts root cause analysis of EHS related incidents. Assigns and tracks corrective actions. Promotes EHS awareness through internal correspondence, specific training programs and company communication boards. Manages relationships with workers compensation, medical resources, and employees. Provides support for Safety Programs, to include Energy Control, Fall Protection, Ergonomics, Lockout/Tagout, Confined Space, Crane and Forklift operations, etc. Coordinates the storage and disposal of hazardous waste. Assists with necessary reporting to various agencies. Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines. Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job. Leads and mentors a team of quality personnel who ensure company adherence to quality related regulatory and government agencies, including AS9100, NADCAP, & ITAR processes. Create, maintain, and monitor Corrective Action Preventive Action (CAPA) program to reduce error and avoid reoccurrence. Shares best practices across the entire company. Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3). EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree Required. Must have 5+ years management experience within the manufacturing industry. Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Must be able to demonstrate project management experience in a manufacturing or construction related environment. Must be familiar with a variety building and construction concepts, practices and procedures, and laws. Must be able to rely on extensive experience, problem-solving skills, judgment, and collaboration to plan and accomplish goals. Must have excellent communication, teambuilding, and customer service skills. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office products and project planning software. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.Not sure that you'll be the perfect fit for this role?
