The Center for Excellence in Higher Education (CEHE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. CEHE operates degree-granting career colleges throughout the western United States and online. The college brands include Stevens-Henager Colleges in Utah and Idaho; CollegeAmerica in Arizona; California College San Diego, and Independence University (online platform). All of the colleges are accredited by ACCSC, a national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The colleges offer degree programs from the Associate's level through the Master's level in a variety of disciplines including Computer Science, Graphic Arts, Business/Accounting, Nursing, and Healthcare. Central Financial Aid Officer

The Central Financial Aid Officer ensures administration of student financial aid.

Essential Functions

* Audit initial files to ensure all documents are included and completed accurately * Coordinate with planners and Business Officer on initial file delivery and accuracy * Verify files on financial aid processing software * Certify and order loans and grants * Monitor students monthly to ascertain eligibility for the next year's academic loans * Re-order loans and grant money for returning students * Have an understanding of and implement federal and school guidelines * Update student financial/academic information to ensure accuracy * Check rosters * Answer planner questions regarding federal and school guidelines * Run multiple reports to maintain accuracy and timely receipt of funds * Evaluate crossover plans to ensure accuracy before processing aid * Re-audit file for all changes and re-process aid for each new academic year * Report processing progress and collection projections * Administrative tasks such as email, filing, report generation, and creation and maintenance of spreadsheets completed in a timely manner. * Make the final decision regarding student financial aid packaging. * Must be able to lift 15 pounds


* Associate's degree in business with knowledge in accounting OR equivalent work experience * Two years' experience in business or accounting field * Proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and some Access) * Candidate must be quick, sharp and good with details and accuracy. * Good with numbers, working with ledger codes and transcripts * Accurate, detail oriented, organized and reliable * Have the ability to multi-task * In order to perform this job, you must not be in default on any Federal Title IV student loans.
