Job Description Job Description Overview: We are seeking a driven and client-focused Criminal Law Attorney to join our in-office team in Taylorsville, Utah . This position is ideal for an attorney who is passionate about criminal defense, thrives in the courtroom, and is committed to protecting clients’ rights at every stage of the criminal process. Responsibilities: Represent clients in a wide range of criminal law matters, including misdemeanors and felony cases Manage criminal cases from arraignment through resolution, including hearings, motions, negotiations, and trial Appear regularly in court and advocate aggressively on behalf of clients Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal memoranda related to criminal proceedings Conduct legal research and develop defense strategies tailored to each case Communicate clearly and consistently with clients regarding case status and expectations Negotiate plea agreements when appropriate and prepare cases for trial when necessary Maintain organized and timely case files in compliance with court and firm standards Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Active license and good standing with the Utah State Bar Experience practicing criminal law preferred (criminal defense, public defender, or prosecutorial background considered) Strong courtroom advocacy and litigation skills Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication abilities Ability to manage a criminal caseload independently in a fast-paced environment What We Offer: Competitive compensation based on experience Consistent courtroom exposure and hands-on criminal law practice Supportive in-office team environment Opportunity for long-term growth and advancement Schedule: Full-time, in-office position Monday through Friday
