Job Description:

Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the master planning, creative development, design, engineering, production, project management, and research and development arm of Disney's Parks and Resorts business segment. Representing more than 150 disciplines, its talented teams of Imagineers are responsible for the creation - from concept initiation through installation and commissioning - of all Disney Resorts, theme parks and attractions, real estatedevelopments, regional entertainment venues, and new media projects.Job Overview:Highly technical position requiring strong creative intuition. Integrate state of the art show/ride control systems with Audio-Animatronics figures and shows. Program all show elements and "smart" ride vehicles for Disney attractions worldwide. Requires excellent working relationships with Creative, Engineering, Manufacturing, Media, TPP and Park Maintenance teams.Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with other Show Programmers to operate and maintain Animation & Show Programming system's highly specialized hardware and software tools
  • Provide technical support to the show Animators for the programming of Audio-Animatronics figures
  • Partner with the show Art Director and other Show Programmers to program special effects, audio, animated props and show action equipment
  • Provide technical support for computer graphic animation programs (such as Maya, Alias and SoftImage)
  • Sole responsibility to organize, secure and maintain all show data created by the Animators and Show Programmers
  • Interface with Show Control Engineering, Animation Development, Mechanical Engineering and Animators to assure successful
  • integration of animation and controls
  • Team with Manufacturing on a technical level during figure production, set-up and programming to assure quality, reliability and creative intent are met
  • Assist in training Park Maintenance personnel during installation and turnover
  • Support SQS and Park Maintenance to maintain quality in new and
  • existing attractionsBasic Qualifications :
    • Minimum 2 year experience leading the programming of major attractions
    • Experience leading a show from concept level through production, installation and turnover (area of demonstrated expertise must include 2 of the following 3 specialties: Audio-Animatronics figure programming support, Special Effects/Media attractions, or Ride Vehicle animation)
    • Familiarity with maintaining and creating riggs for CG character animation
    • Demonstrated ability to managing multiple project tasks
    • Basic Knowledge of Robotic Animation
    • Basic knowledge of control systems
    • Ability to provide basic technical support for computer graphic animation applications
    • Demonstrated ability to work without supervision
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) clearly and concisely.Required Education :
      • 2 year Electronics DegreePreferred Qualifications:
        • Scripting knowledge with : (Python, Mel, C+, C++)
        • PLC Programming skills
        • Knowledge of or willing to learn the common and current animation and show control systems in place throughout the Disney Parks Able to troubleshoot and program these systems efficiently
        • Desired software knowledge/familiarity with: (Maya, MotionBuilder, Z-Brush, Adobe, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, Solid Works)Preferred Education :
