$70,179.00 to $85,775.00Position: General Manager IIPurpose:The
General Manager II (GMII) manages a complex QSR or Casual Dine
Restaurant, or a small cluster of restaurants or points-of-sale in
close proximity, with annual sales generally exceeding $4M. The
GMII ensures the restaurant is clean, staffed, operational, and
meets high standards. The GM uses broad discretion and judgment to
make leadership decisions. The GMII is responsible for the overall
success of the restaurant.Essential Functions include:
- Open and Close: Ensuring all assistant managers and staff
recognize the importance of closing and opening procedures, and
holding Shift Managers accountable for executing checklists.
- Staffing/Deployment: Understanding, adopting, and demonstrating
manager behaviors that promote employee engagement; deploying staff
to maximize profitability; handling hiring, promotions, and
terminations; promoting HMSHost as an employer of choice; ensuring
diversity and inclusion; onboarding and offboarding staff;
analyzing financial data; recognizing staff contributions; adopting
employee engagement behaviors.
- Product Availability/Working Equipment: Managing stock levels,
overseeing receiving and invoices, maintaining management systems,
scheduling equipment maintenance, and participating in audits and
food donation programs.
- Brand Knowledge/Proficiency: Assessing and training staff,
embracing new technologies, understanding brand standards, and
developing strategies to increase revenue.
- Visual/Vibe/Appeal: Managing daily activities, resolving
customer and staff issues, providing feedback, and implementing
marketing programs.
- Safety: Ensuring compliance with health and safety standards,
training staff on wellness and COVID-19 protocols, and
understanding health and safety activities.
- Reporting and Schedule: The GMII reports to the Director of
Operations or similar, works a varied schedule, including opening,
busy dayparts, and closing shifts.Minimum Qualifications include:
- Proven experience managing similar restaurant types, with at
least 3 years of P&L responsibility and 5-7 years of restaurant
experience.
- Food Service Management or Culinary program graduation may
substitute some experience.
- Team management, delegation, issue resolution skills, and
knowledge of HMSHost policies and standards.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, menus, and
